Area of Expertise:
Professor Wafa specializes in strategic operations management, total system quality improvement, and institutional transformation to meet current and future challenges. His research interests include just-in-time implementation strategies in the manufacturing and service industries, supply chain management, and quality improvement. He taught courses in Operations Management, Management Science, Statistics, Quality Improvement in Operations, and Leadership Financial Management.

Professional Activities:
Professor Wafa’s publications include articles on just-in-time implementation in the International Journal of Operations & Production Management, International Journal of Management Science, and International Journal of Physical Distribution and Logistics Management.
He served as a board member of the Kenosha Area Family and Aging Services, Inc. (KAFASI), Center for Advanced Technology and Innovations (CATI), and TechStar. He also served as president and program chair for the Mid-Continent East AACSB, and played different roles as a member of Production & Operations Management Society (P&OM), The Educational Society for Resource Management (APICS), The Decision Sciences Institute (DSI), The International Academy of Business Disciplines (IABD), and the Midwest Business Administration Association (MBAA).
Professor Wafa provided consulting and counseling for businesses in the service as well as manufacturing sectors. He served on the Government Issues Committee of the Midland Chamber of Commerce, Michigan, and board member of the Columbus Visitor’s Center.
Currently a board member of the Columbus Chamber of Commerce, Healthy Community Initiative, United Way, Economic Development Board, and the Columbus Education Coalition in Columbus, Indiana.
Dr. Wafa served as President, Program Chair for the Mid-Continent East Business Deans Association of AACSB – The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business-International. He also served on AACSB accreditation maintenance evaluation teams of colleges/schools of business across the U.S.
Dr. Wafa has been engaged in interfaith activities with the objective of building bridges of understanding and coexistence between people of all faiths. He also gave many presentations on topics pertaining to economic development, Rights of Women in Islam, and the Palestinian/Israeli conflict.
